ReturnRETURN

“I will gather you from all the countries” (Ezekiel 36:24)

At Ezra International, we rejoice to see the Lord fulfill His promises through the prophets to bring the Jewish people home.

Although the Jewish people have scattered to the north, south, east, and west, the Lord promises to bring them back to Israel—a promise to meet with them in the land as He proves Himself faithful in their sight.

The stories below show that the return to Israel is not only a wonderful promise found in the prophets, but a practical ministry today. Ezra International is called on to serve the Jewish people in practical ways as the Lord brings them back to Israel today.  Rejoice with us as we see God fulfilling His ancient promises today, bringing glory and honor to His Name.

ALIYAH FROM MOLDOVA: A DREAM FULFILLED

Alexey realized his dream of making aliyah just a few years ago. Our team in Moldova believes his story demonstrates that God takes seriously His promises to the Jewish people. This young man faced many challenges as he prepared to leave Moldova for Israel, a dream he’d held in his heart since childhood. Now that he is finally there, his determination to succeed has not diminished but increased.

Like anyone with Jewish background who wants to make aliyah, Alexey’s first task was to document his Jewish heritage. It seems like a simple task. You get notarized copies of your birth certificate, maybe your parents’ or grandparents’ marriage certificate, and other paperwork that documents your Jewishness. Israel’s laws won’t let you receive your visa and make aliyah if you can’t prove your Jewish heritage, so this is a critical step in moving to Israel.Aliyah from Moldova

Alexey knew the paperwork he needed was available—he couldn’t get his hands on any of it. Turning to Ezra International’s Moldova team for help, Alexey at last overcame this hurdle: he started finding everything he needed to obtain his Israeli visa. Then, the unexpected happened again. As a 17-year-old young man, Alexey would have to report for military service in his home country of Moldova, but that date was approaching so quickly that he might have to postpone his departure for Israel.

Alexey was quite willing to complete his obligations in Moldova, but if he hadn’t run into difficulties documenting his Jewish ancestry, he would have been in Israel long before his army service in Moldova was to begin. After facing so many difficulties getting the needed documents, Alexey wanted to make aliyah as soon as possible.

His request for a six-month delay before he had to report to Moldova’s army was granted. Our team in Moldova stepped our efforts to help him prove his Jewish heritage, accessing archives and using all our resources to fill in the missing pieces. After every document was found, the Israeli consulate quickly granted him his visa, and we saw God fulfill His Word: “I will surely gather all of you, O Jacob; I will surely bring together the remnant of Israel” (Micah 2:12).

Alexey sees his dreams of a better life in Israel fulfilled on a daily basis. After completing his military service, Alexey will study at university. He remains grateful to Ezra International’s supporters, whose help in his time of need helped him realize his dream of living in the homeland of his forefathers. We look forward to hearing stories of his success at home in Israel, the land promised hundreds of years ago to his forefathers.

Aliyah from Ukraine

When Zhenya and her daughter Nelia telephoned our offices in Ukraine from their new home in Israel, they told us about their wonderful life there.  They live near Haifa, close to the Mediterranean Sea.  Now in Israel for more than two years, they have started a new life there—when Nelia’s young children ask their mother, “When will we go back home to Ukraine?” her reply is always the same:  “This is our home now, and we’re not going back to …
