Time is the Enemy

Anti-Jewish slogans and graffiti are now common throughout the former Soviet states. Public billboards calling for Russia to be cleansed of the Jews are seen in many cities. People have been beaten in their own apartments and some have even been killed for just being a Jew.

The greatest enemy is time. It is only a matter of time before the doors for immigration slam shut leaving these precious people's lives hanging in the balance. There is no time to waste. We must get them out now while we can!

Will you help us?

Mission Opportunities – With the Street Children

In April 2007 members of House of David Ministries in Fairland Oklahoma took part in a short term mission opportunity with Ezra International in Kiev, Ukraine:

We had the privilege of accompanying the Ezra "fishermen" as they went to the streets to find the children. There are more than 5,000 street children in Kiev alone living in the most terrible conditions. Most are between 7 and 17 years old; some as young as 4 years old. These children have often been rejected by their families or have themselves rejected their families; are distrustful of adults and those in authority. In order to survive they are turning to crime. Many are sniffing glue or taking drugs and alcohol. The children are as young as two years old – a "lost" group.

Ezra workers seek to inspire trust from the children through continuing unconditional love and provision. They are finding children in their hiding places, reaching out to them and showing them the love of God in various practical, ways: Regular 'food runs' are made – the children not only receive good food at the 'feeding station', but also clothing; The social and medical situation is uncovered, then contact is made with the Ukrainian State Service for joint decisions concerning relevant issues and needs; and, children are given medical and dental help at clinics and hospitals. They are taught about personal hygiene and respect for one's body.
