Time is the Enemy

Anti-Jewish slogans and graffiti are now common throughout the former Soviet states. Public billboards calling for Russia to be cleansed of the Jews are seen in many cities. People have been beaten in their own apartments and some have even been killed for just being a Jew.

The greatest enemy is time. It is only a matter of time before the doors for immigration slam shut leaving these precious people's lives hanging in the balance. There is no time to waste. We must get them out now while we can!

Will you help us?

Five Year Dream For Aliyah Finally Becomes Reality

Lyudmila & their grandson on departure day.

From Moldova to Israel.

The Gilyadov family was planning to leave for Israel in 2004 but Vladimir became very ill with bronchial asthma causing many complications. His illness had interrupted all of their plans to make aliyah.

It was necessary to spend a lot of money and time on his treatment. Then his wife became seriously ill which entirely devastated the family financially. Because of poor health and lack of work they had no way to change their financial condition.

Then, in 2005 their grandson became seriously ill. It was a postpartum injury of the skull, which caused many complications. It was necessary to take on even greater debts, which would need to be repaid. The family had to sell their apartment to pay back part of the debt, to have means for the treatments, and to pay for day to day living expenses.

Three years later after recovering from all the illnesses and debts, they again began to gather their documents for aliyah for Israel. They decided to see the matter through to the end this time.

After making contact with Ezra International and receiving financial assistance for their passports, visas, travel expenses to the Israeli Embassy for their required consultation and help with debts, they were finally ready to go. This family was very grateful to “EZRA” for the much needed assistance. They could not have made it on their own.

After five years of waiting to immigrate to Israel their dream became a reality in May, 2009.
